Penn St @ Northwestern 8 PM ET (FS1) Line: NW -3.5 O/U 132
Pick: NW -3.5
Louisville @ Va Tech 7 PM ET (ESPN) Line: VT -5 O/U 136.5
Pick: Louisville +5
Pacers @ Pelicans 8 PM ET Line: Pacers -2.5 O/U 218
The first pick of the night is more about Penn St being bad than it is NW being good. The Nittany Lions are winless in the Big 10. That’s about all you need to know. Northwestern should take care of business at home tonight. NW -3.5.
Next up is a good matchup in the ACC, although VT is without their best player Justin Robinson. Their offense is predicated on the 3-point shot, so if they hit a lot they won’t miss Robinson too much. The Cardinals are coming off a tough home loss to UNC, so they’ll be looking to bounce back in this one. Going on the road in conference play is never easy, but I think Va Tech will struggle without their leader. Close game either way, so going with Louisville +5.
Only one NBA game tonight, which features two teams missing their best player. The Pacers lost Oladipo for the whole season due to a brutal knee injury last month. The Pelicans are missing 5 players that get regular playing time, but have somehow been competitive against good teams their last three games. Indiana’s offense has been abysmal since Oladipo got injured. I think the rag tag Pelicans squad can keep it together enough to cover 3, and maybe even eek out a W.
