First off, apologies for not posting last night’s picks. Work got in the way. That being said, went 1-1-1 on the day (I’ll post the details in the recap at the end of the week). Now on to tonight’s games. Maryland travels to Columbus to take on Ohio State in Big 10 play. Maryland is red hot and comes in on a long winning streak, but Ohio State has played well at home. They have contrasting styles, with Maryland relying on guard play (Cowan Jr.) and Ohio State playing through their big man Wesson. Maryland has a little more experience, so I like them to go into the Buckeyes’ house and at least cover, if not get the W outright. Maryland -3.
Next up we have that Buffalo team that I was very much behind the other night, only to have them let me down. I’m not letting that cloud my judgement, however, and like them a lot tonight at home. They played this E. Michigan team a few weeks ago on the road and won by 16, so I don’t see them playing a worse game at home. I also like them to put up a lot of points, so EMU will only have to play decently to make the over hit. Buffalo -15.5, Over 147.5.
Last up we hit the NBA with a couple of superstars highlighting the Pelicans/Blazers matchup. Anthony Davis is going to waste in New Orleans, and Damian Lillard is trying desperately to make a meaningful postseason run for the first time in his career. The Pelicans have been out West for a week, which I think is a sign that they’re going to be sick of being away from home and not have their best stuff. Apart from that, they are only 6-18 on the road, with the Blazers at 19-7 at home. The 3-point spread is basically a win/lose situation, so I’m on the Blazers -3.
