It’s an early tip in Bloomington as Indiana faces off against Nebraska in a Big 10 matchup. Both teams come in at 12-4, in good shape to make the tournament in March. Indiana is coming off two straight road losses, so a home game is just what they needed to get back on track. Nebraska hasn’t been very good on the road, although they still put up a lot of points wherever they play. This pick boils down to the home team needing a win, which I think they will get. Indiana -2.
This Duke team is really something special. Zion Williamson isn’t even the best player on the team (RJ Barrett) which is incredible. But even with all that talent, they haven’t faced a Jim Boeheim defense before. I think Duke will win this game, but I’m hoping the freshmen on Duke get flustered by the unorthodox defense thrown at them. This pick is a bit of a flier, but there’s enough points here to make it worthwhile. Syracuse +17.
In the late NBA window, Portland goes to Sacramento for the second leg of a road back-to-back. They lost a tough one last night in Denver, so I’m predicting that they will have a bit of a letdown after that one. The Kings aren’t a great team by any stretch, but I think they can outlast the Blazers for the first 24 minutes of this one. Kings 1st Half -1.
Another late NBA game features two of the best offensive teams in the league, as you might’ve been able to tell based on the astronomical O/U at 239.5. It would be fun to take the Over just to watch all the points roll in, but that number is too high for me. This pick is based on the home/road splits for these two teams: Pelicans 5-17 on the road and the Clippers 14-7 at home. Hoping this trend continues. Clippers -2.
